![]() Today I'm going to talk to you about one of my favorite things....COFFEE! Coffee tends to get a pretty bad wrap in the health and wellness world these days. Let me first just start by saying that coffee is not for everyone. There are some whom should stay away from caffeine such as those with sleep issues, low adrenal function, heart problems or high blood pressure etc. But for most of us living a healthy lifestyle, coffee is an added benefit into our regime. Some benefits of coffee include:
Coffee beans are one of the most heavily pesticide sprayed crops and the way we rid the beans of the pesticides is to pour hot water over them and then drink it ...Yuck! So do yourself a favor and go organic with your coffee. My favorite brand of coffee, though on the higher end price wise, is Bulletproof. It's beautifully smooth, robust in flavor and is free of molds and toxins. One of the other things we hear in the health world about coffee is that it is too acidic and makes our bodies ph too acidic therefore making us unhealthy and set up for disease. While coffee is acidic, so is protein and many other things in our diet. The first key here is moderation. No one should be drinking a pot of coffee a day. Depending on your body size and metabolism, 1-2 cups a day of caffeinated coffee is plenty.
I hope this has helped debunk the "coffee is bad for you" myth. As always, if you are unsure if it is a right choice for you, I encourage you to check with your doctor or Holistic Health Practioner first. I'm off now to go make myself a cup of coffee...
